Why is S.H.I.E.L.D. so Shady?

“Budapest”

For a super secret organization sworn to protect Earth, S.H.I.E.L.D. is one shady m-effer. They trick their agents into suicide missions, then try to kill them when they succeed. Is nothing sacred? Let’s grab the two most vulnerable Avengers we can find, and blackmail them into working for us. Dick move S.H.I.E.L.D., dick move.

I assume you can see what waits for you inside the covers of Secret Avengers #1, lies and deceit, that’s what. I’m pretty sure Agent Fury killed a guy too, regardless of what “health regenerative” tech bullet he blasted the dudes face with. The guys face is gone, end of story. For the good of the country I suppose…wait, did I just get brainwashed?

Super sneaky stuff takes place in Nick Spencers stab at the Secret Avengers, some demon possessions too. The art from Luke Ross is notable, but nothing spectacular, looks good close up, loses a little in the distance.

Take a gander at the cover, I spy with my one eye, a giant green arm. I’d like to see how that mission plays out.
