Many people know the Little Nemo name, or at least I think they do. The boy who famously traverses slumberland and dream worlds with his trusty bed. But when I saw Little Nemo: Return to Slumberland #1 from IDW on the shelves of Cosmic Comics!, I immediately asked myself “who this books audience actually is?”

To understand the answer to that question, you have to first skip reading the book and flip to the final pages, the pages where the history of Little Nemo and its brilliant creator Winsor McKay are explained. Little Nemo: Return to Slumberland #1 will then not only make more sense, but the way you intake the book will also be influenced greatly.

IDW will gloat about their award winning team of Eric Shanower and Gabrial Rodriguez, but Return to Slumberland would be nothing without Rodriguez. His work really grabs the feel of McKay’s past work, sharp and creative, the way the book was meant to be.

I realized after reading Little Nemo: Return to Slumberland #1 that my question shouldn’t have been, “who this book’s audience actually is”, but asked,”who isn’t this book’s audience?”
