Free Comic Book Day 2012 Free Books Review Part 1
It’s an event that only comes once a year. A day that brings smiles to everyone’s face and a day that is guaranteed to bring joy and happiness to the most sorrowful of souls. That’s right, it’s Free Comic Book Day!!! This year it’s happening on May 5th and Cosmic Comics is there with all the free comic books you can snatch up in one hand. But seriously, I don’t know how many you’ll be able to pick up, but what I do know is that I have two of the available comics right in front of me.
Both come from Archie Comics and coincidentally both are from classic video game fame. Sonic the Hedgehog and Mega Man will both be available to take home. Sonic is teamed up with Tails and Sally to stop Doctor Eggman’s robot enslavement plans and Mega Man takes you back to Rock’s origins with a special look at Dr. Wiley’s other cyborg villains, Cut Man, Guts Man, Ice Man, Bomb Man, Fire Man, and Elec Man.
The thing is, the art in both of these book’s is really slick and sharp. Colors burst off the page and every line is clean and precise. I was really impressed with both of the books overall, sure they’re aimed towards a younger audience, but that’s the beauty of them being free. Keep your ears open and eye’s pealed for other news regarding this event at Cosmic Comics.
Oh, and a little birdie whispered in my ear there may even be a raffle planned for an original Avengers #1!
