As a new collector of comic books, you are just beginning to learn what it takes to build a valuable comic book collection. Especially if you are trying to find Gold or Silver Age comic books, there are some important questions that will help you develop the skills necessary for building your vintage collection without finding yourself at the mercy of every disreputable comic book seller.

Your first question to address is where to find Gold and Silver Age comic books. Finding a vendor such as Cosmic Comics! who can provide answers to your questions and who can knowledgably discuss the different types of comics, the superhero histories, the creators of the comic books and other pertinent information will be a valuable first step. Once you have found a reliable vendor, you will have a great source to turn to for help with your other questions.

Your second question will cover the basics of how to recognize original Silver Age comic books and not be fooled by imitations. Learning how to recognize originals is an extremely important task because you need to be able to recognize which comics to buy and which are not worth your time so when you have the chance to browse though some Silver Age comic books for sale, you’ll be able to go straight for the books that you need.

Another important question to address concerns the price of the comics and the prioritization of which comic books you’ll want to search after first and which to hold off for. Some comic books will probably become more valuable over time and others may have peaked and will hold steady for a few years. The price and the possibility of price increase will affect the order of your purchases.

For more information about collecting comic books and the many different types of Gold and Silver Age comic books, you may want to find a collector’s guide. Cosmic Comics! is a great example of a vendor who can provide both the comic books that you are looking for and may become a source of information and tips for improving your collection.

So come on by and #getyourfix!
